Ireland’s Eye Island

Hello lovelies,

How is your day going? What amazing new places have you discovered?

Actually this post was meant to be about whale watching, but we were late, so we missed the tour. Because we got already in Howth we decided to stop for something to eat. I was craving for seafood chowder, and when Maria is craving something, the request must be met! We stopped at The Brass Monkey, where apparently you will find the best seafood chowder. I was not disappointed at all about the meal there. The chowder was full of seafood goodies, and very creamy, exactly as I like it. Out of this world! I would had a second bowl, but my mind said “Calm down girl, cuz you’re not hitting the gym tonight!”

After we made our bellies happy, we ventured towards the harbour to look for some seals willing to say “Yes” to a photo-shoot. And then we saw them. We saw the boats that are taking you to the island. The weather was amazing, so it was obvious that we could not sit this one out. You have two options. You can buy a ticket for €10 to go around the island and with €5 extra you have the option to explore the island as well. For more details click here. Go early in the morning so you can take your time. You have the ruins of an old monastery, a beach, plus lovely views. If you like picnics, and the weather is nice, take your blanket and some food, because the island is full of lovely spots to have a picnic. You do not have any shops there so please take a bottle of water with you because you’ll need it.

It is an amazing place, worth visiting, worth spending an entire day. A lovely spot for photographers. Definitely will return on another sunny day!

Until next time, look after yourself! You are amazing and you can do anything you want!

Kisses from Maria
